Meet Our Surgeons

DONALD NIKCHEVICH JR., DDS

Dr. Donald Nikchevich is Board Certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and has been practicing in the Simi Valley and the Thousand Oaks area for the past three decades. Experienced in all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery, he chose to specialize in dental implant surgery and advanced implant techniques. Over the course of his career, he has placed over twenty-five thousand dental implants for patients throughout Southern California. In addition, Dr. Donald Nikchevich was
one of the first oral surgeons in the United States to offer Yomi robotic guidance dental implant surgery.
He received his undergraduate education at the University of Southern California, and attended the University of Southern California School of Dentistry where he earned his dental degree and became a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. Dr. Nikchevich then completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center.
Committed to his specialty, Dr. Nikchevich is a member of the Academy of Osseointegration and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is also a Fellow in anesthesiology as recognized by the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and a Diplomate of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology.

MARINE Sarkisian, DDS, MD

As a southern California native, Dr. Sarkisian is excited to serve the Westlake Village and Thousand Oaks communities. Dr. Sarkisian earned her dental degree from the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry. She then completed her Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at the Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center.
During this training she earned her medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine at USC. Dr. Sarkisian went on to complete a year of general surgery at Los Angeles County Medical Center.
She completed her training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at USC with extensive exposure to maxillofacial trauma, pathology, reconstruction, orthognathic (corrective) jaw surgery, dentoalveolar surgery, and dental implants.
Dr. Sarkisian is focused on providing individualized and meticulous care for her patients beginning at the treatment planning stage and continuing through recovery. She takes pride in providing the community with excellent service in the practice of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery.
In her free time, she loves traveling with her husband and son.

ARA MIRZAIANS, DDS

As a native of Southern California, Dr. Mirzaians is pleased to be serving the Southern California community. He is Board Certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, with extensive surgical training in oral, facial and implant surgery, which included time at LAC+USC Medical Center, Keck Medical Center, and Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles, treating children with cleft lip and palate and craniofacial anomalies.
Before he commenced his oral surgery training at USC, Dr. Mirzaians attended the University of California Irvine, where he received his undergraduate education in Biological Sciences. He then pursued his dental education in Arizona, at Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine, graduating in the top 10% of his class with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. His extensive post-graduate training included both an internship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at USC, as well as a four-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at LA County-USC Medical Center.
Dr. Mirzaians maintains membership in several professional organizations, such as the California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the California Dental Association and the American Dental Association. He also participates in continuing education programs throughout the year to stay abreast of the latest advances in the specialty including robotic implant surgery.

ROBERT LYTLE, DDS

Dr. Rob Lytle is the third member of the Lytle family to attend the University of Southern California School of Dentistry and join the practice.  He received his undergraduate degree in business administration from the University of Southern California and then pursued his dental education at USC, as well.  After he obtained his DDS, Dr. Lytle obtained his post-graduate residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Louisiana State University and then completed a general surgery residency and 
internship at the Medical Center of Louisiana at New Orleans.
Dr. Lytle has also been very active in the Glendale Academy of Dentists, where he served as Past President. He is a member of several other professional associations and societies, such as the San Fernando Valley Dental Society, the California Dental Association, the California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Grant Nishimura, DDS, MD

Dr. Grant Nishimura grew up in the Conejo Valley and is excited to return to his roots to serve his local community. He pursued his undergraduate studies at the University of Southern California graduating early after 3 years and then earned his DDS at the UCLA School of Dentistry, where he received numerous awards for clinical, didactic, and research excellence.

Dr. Nishimura then completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program at the UCLA Medical Center, gaining extensive experience in dental implant reconstruction, oral surgery, complex trauma, orthognathic surgery, pathology, and anesthesia. He continued his surgical research contributing to several publications and has presented at national / international meetings. During his 6-year residency program, he also obtained his MD at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine and completed a General Surgery Internship at UCLA. Dr. Nishimura is a candidate for certification by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Growing up with his father who was a professor in restorative and implant dentistry, he has a special appreciation for the role surgery impacts dental esthetics, function and oral health. In his free time, Dr. Nishimura enjoys playing soccer, snowboarding, wakeboarding, hiking, traveling, and trying new restaurants with his wife.

Nicholas Nikchevich, DDS

Dr. Nicholas Nikchevich is a third generation oral and maxillofacial surgeon. His grandfather, Dr. Richard Tokuyama, started the practice in Thousand Oaks in 1975 and his father, Dr. Donald Nikchevich, has led the practice for over three decades.
A native of the Conejo Valley, Dr. Nikchevich graduated from Westlake High School before going on to pursue higher education at the University of Southern California.

Following his undergraduate studies he continued his professional training at the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC. In dental school, he received several awards for academic and clinical merit including the Robert W. McNaulty Award given to the valedictorian of the dental school class and the Charles L. Pincus Award for excellence in esthetic dentistry. He was also nominated as a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society.

After graduating, he matched to his top ranked residency program at LAC+USC Medical Center in Los Angeles, the same academic center where his grandfather and father both trained. There he gained extensive experience with complex facial trauma cases, orthognathic surgery and dentoalveolar procedures and served as Chief Resident during his final year of training. He is currently a candidate for certification by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

In his free time Dr. Nikchevich is an avid angler enjoying all types of fishing as well as skiing and boating. He also enjoys taking care of his garden and various farm animals.
