All of our doctors are Board Certified or Board Eligible. They are members of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, the California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology, National Association of Osseointegration and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, as well as Fellows of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and members of the Santa Barbara Ventura County Dental Society. Dr. Ozaki is also a Fellow of the American Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Member of the American Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons as well as a Fellow of the American College of Surgery.

Donald Nikchevich, Jr., DDS

Dr. Donald Nikchevich has been practicing in the Thousand Oaks area since 1991. He is experienced in all forms of oral surgery though he specializes in dental implantology and advanced implant techniques such as: distraction osteogenesis, full mouth reconstruction, advanced bone grafting with the use of platelet rich plasma, bone morphogenetic protein and bone ring augmentation, all-on-four technique, and sinus lift procedures.

Recently, Dr. Donald Nikchevich has become one of the first oral surgeons in the United States to offer Yomi robotic guidance dental implant surgery. Over the course of his career, he has placed over twenty thousand dental implants. He takes great pride in providing the highest level of patient care by ensuring a comfortable, safe and attentive environment from beginning to end.

​After receiving his Bachelors Degree from the University of Southern California, Dr. Nikchevich attended the University of Southern California School of Dentistry where he earned his dental degree and became a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. Following his graduation from dental school, Dr. Nikchevich began his residency at the Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center where he received his training for oral and maxillofacial surgery. Dr. Nikchevich is a member of the Academy of Osseointegration, a member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is also a Fellow in anesthesiology as recognized by the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and a Diplomate of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. Additionally, he is currently the director of the Conejo/Simi Implant Study Club which is a continuing education society that organizes lectures from acclaimed speakers in order to benefit the local dental community.

Michael L. Newton, DDS, MD

Dr. Newton attended dental school at Loma Linda University (D.D.S., with honors) and medical school at the University of Southern California. Dr. Newton has trained at the University of Southern California/Los Angeles County Medical Center, Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and the University Medical Center in Fresno, California (affiliated with University of California, San Francisco). Dr. Newton maintains an active interest in anesthesia, dental implants, including advanced bone grafting techniques, distraction osteogenesis, and sinus lift procedures, as well as orthognathic jaw surgery. He is a member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and the American Dental Association. Dr. Newton is a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. Dr. Newton takes pride in providing the community with superior service and patient satisfaction is his primary goal.

Ara Mirzaians , DDS

A native of Southern California, Dr. Mirzaians is pleased to be serving the Southern California community. He is a board-certified surgeon with extensive surgical training in oral, facial and implant surgery, which included time at LAC+USC Medical Center, Keck Medical Center, and Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles, treating children with cleft lip and palate and craniofacial anomalies.

Before he commenced his oral surgery training at USC, Dr. Mirzaians attended the University of California – Irvine, where he received his undergraduate education in Biological Sciences. He then pursued his dental education in Arizona, at Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine, graduating in the top 10% of his class with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.

His extensive post-graduate training included both an internship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at USC, as well as a four-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at LA County-USC Medical Center.

Dr. Mirzaians maintains membership in several professional associations and societies, such as the California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the California Dental Association and the American Dental Association. He also participates in continuing education programs throughout the year to stay abreast of the latest advances in the specialty including robotic implant surgery.

Marine Sarkisian, DDS, MD

As a Southern California native, Dr. Sarkisian is excited to serve the Conejo and Simi Valley communities. Dr. Sarkisian earned her dental degree from the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry. She then completed her Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at the Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center. During this training she earned her medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine at USC. Dr. Sarkisian went on to complete a year of general surgery at Los Angeles County Medical Center.

She completed her training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at USC with extensive exposure to maxillofacial trauma, pathology, reconstruction, orthognathic (corrective) jaw surgery, dentoalveolar surgery, and dental implants.

Dr. Sarkisian is focused on providing individualized and meticulous care for her patients beginning at the treatment planning stage and continuing through recovery. She takes pride in providing the community with excellent service in the practice of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery. In her free time, she loves traveling with her husband and son.

Wayne Ozaki, MD, DDS, FACS

Dr. Ozaki grew up in Anaheim, California. He received his undergraduate and dental school education at the University of Southern California. He graduated as valedictorian of his Dental School class in 1988. Dr. Ozaki trained in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency and attended Medical School at the University of Pittsburgh. He then spent a year as a Plastic Surgery research fellow at the University of Michigan.

He continued his training in Plastic Surgery at the University of Michigan. Dr. Ozaki’s final year of training was being the Craniofacial Fellow under Dr. Henry K. Kawamoto at UCLA. Dr. Ozaki began his academic career at Oregon Health & Sciences University (OHSU) in 1999. After 5 years he achieved the academic rank of Associate Professor of Surgery.

He has publications in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the Annals of Plastic Surgery, the Craniofacial Journal, the Annals of Thoracic Surgery, and the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He has also had the opportunity to present his research nationally and internationally. In 2001, he was accepted as a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons. At OHSU, Dr. Ozaki was the Chief of Pediatric Plastic and Craniofacial Surgery at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Ozaki is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Having two board certifications, He is uniquely qualified to perform cosmetic and reconstructive procedures on the face and entire body. He specializes in facial plastic surgery, aesthetic breast surgery, body contouring, and minimally invasive (endoscopic) surgery.

Dr. Wayne Ozaki has now taken over as the Director of Craniofacial Surgery and Chief of Pediatric Plastic Surgery at the UCLA School of Medicine. He will continue to practice one day per week in the Westlake Village office specializing in cosmetic procedures and continue as the director of the Westlake Laser and Medical Spa.

Robert Lytle, DDS

Dr. Rob Lytle is the third member of the Lytle family to attend the University of Southern California School of Dentistry and join the practice.  He received his undergraduate degree in business administration from the University of Southern California and then pursued his dental education at USC, as well.  After he obtained his DDS, Dr. Lytle obtained his post-graduate residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Louisiana State University and then completed a general surgery residency and internship at the Medical Center of Louisiana at New Orleans.

Believing in the benefits of collaborative, team- based dentistry, Dr. Lytle works closely with his restorative colleagues to provide patients with the highest quality oral surgery and implant treatment possible.  He regularly participates in continuing education programs to further his knowledge in the field of implant dentistry. 

Dr. Lytle has also been very active in the Glendale Academy of Dentists, where he served as Past President. He is a member of several other professional associations and societies, such as the San Fernando Valley Dental Society, the California Dental Association, the California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
